While many shoppers will be scanning the internet searching for bargains this “Cyber Monday,” local retailers say if you’re more a “hands on” shopper, you should head to your local shop. Michigan Retailers Association President and CEO Jim Hallan says some shoppers like to browse online but still like that face-to-face interaction you get at a local retailer. He says most people like to touch and feel a product before making a purchase and also knowing, if they have any problems with the product, it can be returned to their local retailer. Hallan says when consumers buy locally those dollars are reinvested into the community many times over. So, they are encouraging consumers to support retailers that have invested in to the local community. (MRN)
