Tree-lighting ceremonies and a holiday parade will take place this weekend in three different St. Joseph County communities.
Officials from Colon Area Chamber of Commerce are staging the ninth annual “Christmas in Colon” from 5 to 8 tonight. A parade from Colon Elementary to Colon Community Park starts at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the “Christmas in Constantine” celebration continues with its tree-lighting ceremony tonight at 6 o’clock in Shelby Park.
Also in Constantine tonight, Fourth of July Fireworks fundraiser dinners will be offered at 5 o’clock, 6:30 and 8 at Meeks Mill restaurant.
On Saturday, Centreville’s tree-lighting will take place at 7 p.m. at the courthouse gazebo.
Event organizers said Santa will light the tree and then be available at the DPW building for cookies, hot chocolate and visits with children.
