Two arrested on drug charges in Cass County

Two Cass County men were arrested on drug-related offenses last week in Volinia Township.
Members of the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team were called to assist parole agents from the Michigan Department of Corrections. At 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, they assembled outside a residence in the 16000 block of Dutch Settlement Road.
Detectives located methamphetamine components, meth paraphernalia, marijuana and firearms inside of the residence.
Vandalia resident Brett Romig, 32, and 32-year-old Rodney Williams from Marcellus were taken to the Cass County Jail.
Following arraignment, Romig was charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth, maintaining a meth lab, possession of meth, felony firearms and possession of marijuana, sheriff’s officials said. His bond was set at $30,000.
Williams was charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth, maintaining a meth lab, possession of meth and felony firearm, according to officials. Williams’ bond was set at $25,000.
