Max Eugene Webster, 90, of Mottville, Mich., died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Sturgis Hospital following a short illness.
He was born June 6, 1924, in White Pigeon, Mich., the son of Orville and Hazel (McGary) Webster and was a White Pigeon and Mottville area resident all of his life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II from 1942-1945. He was employed as a truck driver for Trelor, Paramount Furniture and C&J Trucking. He was a member of the White Pigeon Liars Club and the Bristol American Legion Post. He loved his grandchildren very much hand enjoyed his time with them. He also participated in the Talons Flight to Washington DC for veterans.
On April 18, 1953, he married Caroline Krizan in Wolcottville, Ind. She died Aug. 2, 2009.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori (James) Cavanaugh of Mottville; sons, Gary (Annie) Webster of Mottville, Max (Jeannie) Webster of White Pigeon and mark Webster of Mottville; step daughter, Dianne (Dale) Tibbie of Manteno, Ill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Richard; two sisters, Marvella Flager and Deloris Webster.
Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where services are at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Scott Manning, of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment with full military rites will be in Mottville Township Cemetery.
