Centreville church expanding

Firm Foundation Ministries of Centreville is planning to expand its campus.
As a result, it plans to clear a row of trees between its property and a village-owned park and softball complex.
The Centreville Village Council earlier this month approved the removal of trees and brush at the girls’ softball diamond as suggested by Bruce Jones, representative of the Park and Recreation committee.
Jones said he was approached by Firm Foundation representatives regarding the removal of trees along its property line. Jones said Firm Foundation also would like to remove the remaining trees bordering the diamond to the south.
Firm Foundation would be responsible for the brush and stump clean-up, Jones said, and also added that some of the trees on the south end were large and split, making them dangerous.
Firm Foundation’s property site contains room for expansion of up to 10 acres.
