State trooper involved in crash

A Michigan State Police trooper was involved in a crash Friday on Youngs Prairie Road near Constantine.
While on routine patrol, the trooper attempted to turn around to pursue a vehicle that matched the description of a car involved in armed robberies in Cass County, Lt. James Colman said in a media release.
The officer lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over.
Colman said no other vehicle or people were involved. At no time did the suspicious driver attempt to flee nor was the trooper in pursuit of the vehicle at the time of the crash, Colman said.
The trooper followed departmental policy, immediately notifying the duty supervisor and worksite commander, Colman added.
