The 2014 John E. Oster Award went to Kimberly L. Annis, a fourth- grade teacher at Eastwood Elementary.
Annis was honored as the 33rd recipient of the award Monday during a meeting of the Sturgis Rotary Club.
A 1992 graduate of Sturgis High School, Annis has taught at Sturgis Public Schools for more than 14 years.
She has served as Clue Me In coach, Grade Level Science coordinator and has been a mentor teacher for five years.
Colleagues praised her high standards, strong relationships with her students, parents and school staff, along with her commitment to school, district and community.
The John Oster Memorial Fund was established in 1981 by Jo Ellen Oster to provide a permanent endowment to recognize teaching excellence in the Sturgis Public School system.
