Virginia Wyman, 67

Virginia L Wyman, beloved Wife, Mother and Sister, passed away early in the morning of April 27, 2009 after battling cancer for the past year.
Virginia was born on December, 11 1941 and lived in Constantine, Michigan. She is the daughter of Read and Gwendolyn Langworthy. Virginia valued education and was an excellent student; she graduated from Constantine High School as the Salutatorian in the Class of 1959.
She attended Western Michigan University the next fall. On September 2, 1962 she married Bruce Wyman in Constantine. She transferred to Central Michigan University to join Bruce. She received a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Mathematics. She went on to become a member of the Central Michigan University faculty teaching math for the next year and a half.
In 1965 she moved to Linden, Michigan where she taught high school math for several years. She then stayed at home to raise her family. In 1980 she attended The University of Michigan and received a degree in Computer Science. After teaching computer science for a few years at The University of Michigan, she went to work as a Systems Analyst for EDS in Flint, Michigan until she retired in 2002. In 2003 she and Bruce built their retirement home and moved to Corey Lake in Three Rivers, Michigan where they had spent their summers and she spent her childhood.
Not one to fully retire, she taught adult education in Three Rivers, Michigan and was the Director of the Literacy Council for St. Joseph County, Michigan. On March 17, 2009 she was honored by St. Joseph County for all of her contributions toward the Literacy Council. Also she volunteered as a Friend of the Library at the Three Rivers Public Library. Virginia loved to read, travel, walk, sail, kayak and spend time with the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband Bruce, her son Timothy Wyman and his wife Laura, grandchildren Ansley and Kelsey of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Suzanne Wyman-Rubinstein and her husband Nir of Atlanta, Georgia and her Brother Dr. James Langworthy of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her father Read Langworthy and mother Gwendolyn Langworthy-Brown. Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, on Wednesday April, 29 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Trinity Missionary Church in Constantine, on Thursday, April, 30 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to Camp Wakeshma PO Box 4, Three Rivers, Michigan 49093.
