Sturgis Journal names top news stories

Andy Brown’s sentencing in the David Locey murder case was voted the top local news story in St. Joseph County for 2014.
The Sturgis Journal revealed its annual top local stories of the year, and Brown’s July sentencing of up to 75 years in prison was No. 1.
Next on the list was the June relocation of the Sturgis Depot from West Main Street to the corner of U.S. 12 and Jefferson Street.
Third was Aaron Miller’s upset win in the August primary for the Republican nominee to the 59th District House of Representatives.
Rounding out the top five were announcement of Culver’s and Meijer opening stores in Sturgis, followed by the 2013-14 winter weather.
