Rolland T. Camp, age 98, of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at his home. He was born in Midland, MI on Oct. 22, 1916 the son of Arthur and Bernice (Owen) Camp. Rolland graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1935. He worked at Camp Publishing Co. and Ford Motor Co. Rolland was married to Maxine Leona Hartman on Oct. 16, 1965 in Ypsilanti. He served in the U.S. Army for five years during World War II, and was a life member of the American Legion in Ypsilanti. After the war he worked at the Ypsilanti Post Office, retiring in 1976. Following retirement, Rolland and Maxine moved to Constantine where they resided for 26 years before moving into Three Rivers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work, and travelling.
Rolland is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Webster of Ypsilanti; three sisters in law, Wilda (Albert) Centka, Jane Hartman and Norma Hartman all of Three Rivers; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine in 2009; his parents; three brothers, Robert, Archie, and Kenneth Camp; brother in law, Harold Hartman; and a nephew, Thomas Hartman.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A private interment of ashes will take place later in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
