The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, through its program called “Ins and Outs,” is scheduling appointments to assist area residents with signing up through the Healthcare Marketplace or for Medicaid.
Open enrollment for the Healthcare Marketplace will end Feb. 15.
According to Steve Todd, health officer for the tri-county health department, the agency has available eight certified, in-person assisters who can help consumers looking for health coverage.
Todd said the eight people can help residents understand the new law requirements, exemptions, premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions, as well as penalties and appeal procedures.
The agency’s Ins and Outs certified staff includes two navigators and six certified application counselors. Its Three Rivers office can be reached by phoning 273-2161.
