The Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees last week adopted a tuition-reimbursement policy for employees.
The program is aimed to help eligible employees improve job skills and enhance opportunities for advancement.
Full-time employees on the job at least a year as a regular-status employee are eligible.
Courses must be from an accredited college, university or trade school and must be for credit or extended education purposes. Courses must be directly related to an employee’s current job or increase the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities to potential advancement opportunities within the college.
Reimbursement is limited to $ 2,500 per fiscal year, per employee. Employees who leave employment by their own initiative within 36 months of completion of the course will be required to reimburse the college a percentage of the cost.
