Martha G. “Marty” Clark, age 71, passed away peacefully from complications of kidney cancer at her home on Friday, January 16th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marty was born June 9, 1943 in Howard Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Baldy) Marketon.
On January 11, 1964 Marty was united in marriage to Mr. Larry Clark in Waverly, Minnesota. Together they raised two beautiful children. Larry and Marty have lived at several locations throughout their lives, but they eventually retired and spent many wonderful years living in Three Rivers on Fisher Lake. After raising her children, Marty went to nursing school and became a proud and caring clinical nurse until she retired in April 2013. She belonged to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Three Rivers Garden Club and the Three Rivers Women’s Club.
Marty’s true love was her family, including her husband, children, especially her grandchildren, and seven siblings. She enjoyed sewing, golf, tennis, and dancing, but was especially gifted at gardening, which was the hobby she enjoyed the most. Like her life, Marty’s flower gardens were always beautiful and in full bloom.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother, Eddie Marketon.
She leaves her cherished family, husband of fifty- one years, Larry Clark; two children, son Mark Clark and his wife, Kyria, and their sons, Christian and Gabe; daughter, Dr. Melissa Clark and her partner, Dr. Laura Ofstead; three sisters, Rosie Milewski, Helen (Bob) Bauman, and Margaret (Jerome) Thiemann; three brothers, Louie, Art (Jolene), and Walter (Jackie) Marketon. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family will receive family and friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22nd, 2015 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23rd, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Vyverman, Fr. Mathew Manalel, and Msgr. Mike Hazard as celebrants.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the Three Rivers Health Hospice, American Cancer Society, or the Carnegie Center for the Arts. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
