After adjusting their executive committee meeting schedule over the past six months, members of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners appear to have finally settled on a mutually agreeable day.
Commissioners decided Tuesday to stage the twice-a-month committee meeting at 8 a.m. every Thursday before a commission meeting. While the 8 a.m. start time has been consistent for several years, the day of the week marks a change.
Until last year, the committee meeting was on Fridays until it proved to be a conflict for at least one of the five commissioners. Consequently, it was moved to Wednesdays.
Now, with the latest change, the meetings will be every other Thursday except in Jan. 28 and Nov. 25.
Executive committee meetings typically afford commissioners and department heads an opportunity to discuss in greater detail items that will appear on the agenda for the subsequent commission meeting.
