Robert Lee “Bob” McClish, age 71, of Leonidas died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at his home. He was born in Battle Creek, MI on April 11, 1943 the son of Cecil and Audrey (Bastian) McClish and was a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1961. Bob worked as a millwright for over 45 years at the Haas Corporation in Mendon later known as Lear Plastics. Bob enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing, hunting, and gardening, and always looked forward to trips to his cabin near Baldwin.
Bob was married to Betty Lou Watts in Feb. 4, 1967 in Leonidas. She survives along with a daughter, Rebecca (Dennis) Jackson of Three Rivers; 2 grandchildren, Allison and Christopher Jackson; 2 step-mothers, Barbara Jean McClish of Baldwin and Donna Coffinger of Colon; and many cousins; 2 brothers in law, Eddie Watts of Kalamazoo and Elwin (Kiyko) Lucas of Costa Mesa, CA; and a sister in law, Joyce Stiles-Young of Harris, GA; and best friends, Jim & Linda Saxman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday Jan. 26, 2015 at the funeral home with Ted Koehl officiating.
