Ezra Graber, 96

EZRA GRABEREzra Graber, 96, of Goshen, Ind., died at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 27, 1918 in Mylo, N.D., to Abraham and Rubena (Roth) Graber. On June 1, 1941, he married Maudie Kauffman, she died Jan. 28, 2001. On May 18, 2002 he married Irma Gingerich, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Wanda (Wayne) Bontrager of Goshen, Ind. and Judy Eash of Holland, Mich.; two sons, Merlin Graber of Plant City, Fla. and Donald Graber of Constantine; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther (Glen) Riegsecker of Middlebury, Ind. and Ruby (Floyd) Miller of White Pigeon; two brothers, Joe (Cora) Graber of White Pigeon and Sam (Adelane) Graber of Middlebury, Ind.; two step sons, Jim (Sharon) Haarer of Goshen, Ind. and Dennis (Joyce) Haarer of Houston, Texas; step daughter-in-law, Patricia Haarer of Goshen, Ind.; six step grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; four brothers, Allen, Dan, Floyd and Ervin Graber, and a step son, Richard Haarer.

He was a member of New Life Christian Church. He was a successful farmer who helped to initiate the idea of seed corn to the southern Michigan area, delivered RV’s for 30 years, and enjoyed many hobbies.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main Street, Middlebury, Ind. and for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral services on Saturday, Feb. 7 at New Life Christian Center, 15685 SR 120, Bristol. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dennis Haarer. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Goshen Hospice. Online condolences may be sent at millerstewartfuneralhome.com.
