Allan Hawn, 75

Allan Elmer Hawn, 75, escaped to heaven on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. He was born to Donald K. Hawn and Thelma L. Farris on Dec. 31, 1939, in Whitley Co., Ind. Allan graduated from Marcellus High School in 1958 and went on to become a licensed master electrician. He married Shirley Lucille Andrews on March 21, 1959, and they lived in Marcellus before relocating to Jones. Allan was a long time employee of Essex Wire, Three Rivers, which was acquired by United Technologies and moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind. He lived in assisted living facilities in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek in his later years. He was an active member of the Jones United Methodist before his illness and has suffered from progressive non-remitting Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years.

Allan is survived by their only child, Dolores (James) Knight of North Bend, Ore.; three siblings, Peggy L. (Terry) May of Battle Creek, Alice Faye (Joe) Nix of Billings, Mont. and Larry L. (Marilyn) Hawn of Anchorage, Alaska; as well as many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Donna L. Hawn and Wilma M. Warden; his parents; and his wife all preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 p.m. at Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. A funeral service will be held there on Monday at 1 p.m., burial to follow at Poe Cemetery in Newberg Township.
