Home invasion suspect arraigned

One of two Kalamazoo men charged with home invasion at a Schoolcraft Township residence last weekend was arraigned Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the other suspect remains hospitalized after he was shot by an occupant of the residence.
Kyle Wilson, 27, was arraigned in Kalamazoo County District Court, while 26-year-old Allen Palmer will be arraigned later as he recovers from being shot in the shoulder during the late-night break-in Sunday at a residence in the 800 block of West VW Avenue.
Police said Palmer allegedly broke a window and entered the residence. He was advised by the resident to leave but he did not. Wilson fled the scene on foot but was arrested a short time later by authorities.
Sheriff’s officials said the resident will not face charges, as the shooting was determined to have been done in self-defense.
