River Country Tourism Council unveils new logo

The St. Joseph County-based River Country Tourism Council has unveiled a new logo that helps identify the region designated River Country.
Rose Szwed, marketing manager for River Country Tourism Council, said the logo was inspired largely by confusion on the exact area covered in describing River Country.
Outside of St. Joseph County, for example, there is a River Country in Illinois and one in the city Evart. In addition, several places have the name St. Joseph: The city of St. Joseph on Lake Michigan, St. Joseph County in southwest Michigan, St. Joseph County, Ind., and St. Joseph, Ill., for example.
The logo shows the mitt of Michigan, with St. Joseph County isolated in dark blue. It appears on a new display booth, on shirts and on the council’s website: rivercountry.com.
