Katie Longacre, 28

Katie Jean Alexander-Longacre, age 28, of Centreville, passed away Saturday, March 7th, 2015. Katie was born in Kalamazoo, MI on April 3, 1986, a daughter of Vicky Lynn (Kannegieter) Alexander and David Wright Alexander. On September 6, 2014, she married Jerry E. Longacre in Nottawa. She attended Mendon Public Schools and later obtained her GED from Three Rivers.  Katie worked as a waitress at Prairie Lake Tavern, Sturgis, and previously at Extreme Automotive, Sturgis. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and canoeing, and was a member of the APA Pool League.

Katie is  survived by her husband Jerry Longacre of Centreville, sons Cohen and Holden Longacre; parents Vicky Alexander of Three Rivers and David Alexander of Bronson; sister Jaime (Travis) Zinsmaster, Powhatan, VA; brothers Chuck (Ann) Forman, Three Rivers and David “DJ” (Stephanie) Alexander, Jr., Three Rivers; mother-in-law Beth (Pierre Charon) Longacre, Centreville; father-in-law Jerry O’dell (Stacy Ramsey) Longacre, Constantine; sisters-in-law Ashley Longacre, Kalamazoo and April Singleton, Three Rivers; and brother-in-law Layson Longacre, Constantine. She was preceded in death by her infant son Leighton Longacre.

Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday,  from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville.  Religious services will be held Thursday, at 11 am at Firm Foundation Ministries of Centreville with Pastor Don Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Prairie River Cemetery in  Centreville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Online messages may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
