River cleanup dates announced

The St. Joseph County Conservation District has announced the dates of its 2015 river cleanup events.
The seven cleanups mark the fifth consecutive year of what is expected to be a six-year effort to clean all 150 miles of rivers in the county.
Scheduled cleanups and dates are: the Rocky River June 6 in Flowerfield Township; the Prairie River June 20 and July 11 in Burr Oak Township; the Fawn River July 25 in White Pigeon and Florence townships; the White Pigeon River in Mottville Township; the Portage River in Lockport Township; and the St. Joseph River in Mendon Township.
Lunch will be provided in all cases. Details about the specific stretches of the rivers to be cleaned are available from the “events” link on the conservation district’s website: stjoecountycd.com.
