Yearbook program will continue

Three Rivers Community Schools Superintendent Jean Logan issued a media release Wednesday, assuring that the school’s yearbook program will result in a publication in which the students who have worked on this year will be proud.
Logan’s comments came a day after it was reported that yearbook advisor Sara Freeman was being investigated and will be charged for embezzlement.
Freeman, a Burr Oak native who also serves as a language arts teacher at the school, is suspected of allegedly keeping more than $20,000 in checks and cash payments intended for advertisements in the school’s yearbook, according to police.
In her statement Wednesday, Logan pledged to the district’s students, parents, and business community that she and the Three Rivers Board of Education will support the yearbook program.
Logan said the district provides opportunities for students that far exceed many other districts, and it is dedicated to continuing that tradition.
