Elizabeth M. Frays, age 87, of Three Rivers, and a former longtime Sturgis resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2015, at Riverview Nursing Home in Three Rivers.
She was born May 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Orrie and Lulu (Benton) Bowdish.
Mrs. Frays lived most of her life in Sturgis. On April 24, 1945, she married Lloyd Frays. He died June 26, 1985.
Elizabeth had been employed at Kirsch Company in Sturgis until the birth of her children, when she became a dedicated stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She attended Sturgis Bible Chapel.
Mrs. Frays enjoyed going out to eat with her daughter Lynette, traveling, gardening and attending church.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Elizabeth (Kermit) Taylor of Cassopolis; and four great grandchildren, Briana, Kyra, Demareon and Emanuel, all of Cassopolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Sherry Marie Frays and Lynette Sue Frays; and brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Elizabeth M. Frays will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Larry Wallman will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
