Dust-Off attracts 900 classic cars

Sunday’s 52nd Mendon Dust-Off benefitted from ideal weather and strong interest from the owners of old and classic cars.
Event organizers estimated about 900 cars were a part of the event, which attracted hundreds of spectators to Mendon High School.
Sponsored by the Three Rivers Classic Antique Restorers Club, the show is widely acknowledged as the first major car show of the season, according to Heidi Alexander, president of the Three Rivers-based club.
She said show cars were arriving an hour before the Dust-Off’s 8 a.m. start and by 10 a.m., late-arriving cars were directed to park in the south lot due to lack of space.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for the Mendon Kiwanis, who offered a pancake and sausage breakfast.
