Longtime St. Joseph County Intermediate Board of Trustees member Elizabeth O’Dell was re-elected Monday to another six-year term.
A Sturgis resident, O’Dell received five votes, with challengers Brandon Kent, also of Sturgis, receiving two. Leonidas resident Sherman Greider picked up one endorsement.
One representative from each of St. Joseph County’s nine school districts was eligible to cast a vote for one of three contenders. Only Three Rivers School District was not represented in Monday’s balloting.
O’Dell was able to capture a clear majority on the first ballot and will rejoin four other members on the ISD board.
She is chief executive officer at Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse of St. Joseph County.
The ISD board sets policy for countywide education services like special education, early childhood education and career technical education.
