Sturgis search warrant leads to drug arrest

Narcotics Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit executed a search warrant last week on East Main Street in Sturgis.
SCAN officers received information about a residence in the 700 block that was reported to have illegal drug activity. After further investigation officers were able to obtain a search warrant.
Officers subsequently found methamphetamine and numerous items associated with its use. A man, whose age and community of residence were not listed in a department media release, was located at the residence and taken into custody.
He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, use of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.
With evidence gathered at the residence, further charges will be requested on additional subjects.
