Frank Lutz, 88

Franklin T. Lutz, 88, of Florence Township, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Florence Township on September 24, 1926, a son of Troy and Nettie (VanFleet) Lutz. He graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1944 and entered the U.S. Navy in 1945. In August of 1946, he married Beverly Wilkins at the Methodist Church in White Pigeon; she preceded him in death on June 8, 1998. On November 12, 2002, he married Judy Milhahn Smith in Hawaii; she preceded him in death on February 28, 2013. Frank was a lifelong farmer, operating the family farm since 1945 until selling in 2014. He was an active community member, serving 12 years on the Constantine Creamery board, 24 years as Florence Township treasurer, and was a life member and past Master of Siloam Lodge #35 Free and Accepted Masons, Constantine.
Surviving are his sons Greg Lutz of Canada and Mark (Anita) Lutz of Edwardsburg; daughter Rebecca (Richard) Yoder of Constantine; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Beverly and Judy, daughter Cherryl Shull, brothers Robert, Arlo, Edwin, and Richard Lutz; and great-granddaughter Haley.
Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, August 8 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at the White Pigeon Township Cemetery. Masonic Lodge #35, Constantine, will officiate.
