Sturgis man arrested after assault on officers

A 31-year-old Sturgis man was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail after he allegedly attacked some Sturgis Police officers Tuesday last week.
Maxwell Vincent Sites faces charges of domestic assault and four counts of assaulting a police officer. He also is wanted on a failure to appear warrant.
Police were called to 1301 Cato Lane about 11:30 p.m. regarding a report of domestic assault.
After officers met with the victim, who had significant facial injuries, they made contact with Sites. He then reportedly charged at officers, attempting to strike them with a wooden club, authorities said.
Police were forced to use a stun gun on Sites in an effort to immobilize him.
The victim was treated at Sturgis Hospital.
