Centreville police station in need of repair

The Centreville Village Council has been investigating repair options for its police station because of water damage, including a leaking roof, standing water, collapsing ceiling tiles and crumbling bricks on the exterior of the building.
Village president Keith Shears said the village does not have the funds to construct a new facility. The council is considering repair of the roof and partitioning the east side of the building.
Michelle Thibideau, DPW superintendent, recently told the village council she had been asking for bids to repair the roof, but had received only one, from Eicher Construction, for $21,450 for roofing, removing chimneys and placing fascia on the edge of the building.
Thibideau was instructed to seek more bids and report back to the council during its September meeting.
