Alan Davis, 69

Alan D. Davis, 69, of Sturgis, passed away on Sept. 10, 2015 at Thurston Woods Village.

He was born March 9, 1946 in Watervliet, a son to the late Dallas and Alla (Lamphere) Davis.

Alan spent most of his life in the Sturgis area. He married Dorothy Bell in Centreville. She died March 19, 2014.

He retired from American Metal Fabrication in Three Rivers after 10 years. He also worked at Essex Wire in Three Rivers for 12 years.

He enjoyed old cars and loved going to old car shows.

Surviving are his six step-sons, Robert Tullos of Sturgis, Doug Tullos of Manistee, Bruce Tullos of Muskegon, Randy Tullos of Kingsley, Lesley Tullos of Sturgis and Gary Tullos of LaGrange, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Davis of Sturgis and Bob Swartwood; two sisters, Gloria Crago of Three Rivers and Jean Brown of Indiana; special companion, Jean Briley of Sturgis.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents; two brothers and one sister.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thurston Woods Village, 207 N. Franks Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091. Rodger Moyer of the Sturgis Evangelical Church will officiate. The Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284 has been entrusted with the arrangements. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
