The man accused of murdering 11-year-old Jodi Parrack in Constantine eight years ago was in court this week in St. Joseph County.
Daniel Furlong, 65, waived his preliminary investigation Wednesday in District Court. The move is related to Furlong’s charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault with a dangerous weapon from a July 28 incident with a 10-year-old girl at what was then his residence in White Pigeon.
DNA taken from Furlong following that incident resulted in a positive match from DNA found at the Parrack crime scene.
Furlong’s preliminary exam is scheduled for Oct. 14
Sheriff Brad Balk said Furlong is being held without bond in the Parrack case. Furlong is not in the general jail population but instead is isolated in a cell near the main booking area and constantly within sight of a corrections officer for his safety and health, Balk said.
