Daniel Furlong, the one-time Constantine resident accused of killing 11-year-old Jodi Parrack in 2007, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
The development took place Thursday before circuit court Judge Paul Stutesman.
In exchange for his plea, the 65-year-old Furlong will not be charged with other crimes in the Parrack case or offenses related to a July incident in White Pigeon that led to his arrest and ultimately his identification as Parrack’s killer.
Prosecutor John McDonough said Furlong provided specific details about the day he killed Parrack, revealing that Furlong placed a plastic bag over Parrack’s head, causing her to suffocate after she was sexually assaulted.
Furlong admitted he lured Parrack into his garage by asking her to help him move some items.
Furlong, who will continue to be questioned about other potential crimes in St. Joseph County, will be sentenced by Stutesman Jan. 11.
