Minor injuries in Cass County crash

Two White Pigeon residents were involved in a traffic accident over the weekend in Cass County.
Sheriff Joe Underwood said deputies were called shortly before noon Saturday to U.S. 12, just east of M-40, in response to a personal-injury crash. Investigators determined an eastbound vehicle driven by Marlin Bowers, 69, lost control, swerved into the westbound lane and his car collided with the guardrail.
Dana O’Dell, 41, who was traveling in the westbound lane, was unable to stop and collided with Marlin. She was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered in the collision.
Marlin had no apparent injuries and refused medical treatment.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, according to authorities.
