CTA apologizes for incorrect information

An official with the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority has apologized and expressed regret to anyone unable to secure a ride through the agency’s Free Ride Home last week.
Joe Cooper, operations manager of the Three Rivers-based agency, said the CTA featured incorrect phone numbers on promotional materials it advertised and distributed for anyone wishing a free ride home New Year’s Eve and into the early morning hours New Year’s Day.
According to a media released issued by the CTA, it was “after carefully investigating this, we found that we inadvertently published incorrect phone numbers.”
It added that the St Joseph County Transportation Authority will continue to strive for excellent community service.
A total of 14 people took advantage of last week’s Free Ride Home, which started at 10 p.m. Thursday and concluded at 4 a.m. Friday. The 14 passengers is the lowest amount in the eight-year history of the program.
