Katie Mae Davidhizar, age 89, of Leonidas, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at her home. She was born June 9, 1926 in Laurence – Rusk County, Wisconsin a daughter of John A. and Susan R. (Bontrager) Miller. She was very proud to have received her GED from Three Rivers High School. Katie was employed at Heartland Health Care Nursing Home in Three Rivers for over 30 years, retiring in 2015. She attended Moorepark Community Church and watched Harvest Time Ministries of Detroit. Katie enjoyed knitting, crochet, doing word search puzzles and watching game shows.
Surviving are her daughters Roberta Davidhizar, Centreville, Beth (Rick) Miller, Leonidas, grandchildren Heather Davidhizar, Philip Davidhizar, Hannah (Michael) Kandolf, Abby Miller and Bryce Miller, sister Amelia (Joseph) Yoder, brother Earl (Melanie) Bontrager, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Lavina, Sarah, Toby and Merle. The family would especially like to thank Great Lakes Caring Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Katie.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 4 – 7 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will be held 11 am Friday. Chaplain Chris Johnson will officiate.
