Saturday’s 31st annual Walk For Warmth event in Three Rivers helped raise nearly $10,000, according to event organizers.
Sponsored by the organization Community Action, the walk generated $9,800 and all funds raised through the event will stay in St. Joseph County. More than a dozen people participated in the walk, including a pair of longtime boosters, Colon resident Nancy Percival and St. Joseph County Commissioner Rick Shaffer.
Consumers Power plans to provide a partial match of the funds raised, which were generated through pledges and donations in support of participants taking part in a one-mile walk.
