George S. Shoun, age 62, of Constantine, died on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his home. Born October 13, 1953 in Wurzburg, Germany, he moved to Tennessee when he was 15 months old, and later to Michigan, graduating from Edwardsburg High School in 1971. George was employed at Corey Lake Orchard, known as the orchard & vineyard grand poo–bah. He previously worked as a truck driver, a thermoformer in the RV industry and a painter. George loved all motor racing especially NHRA. He also enjoyed music and going to Reggae concerts. He loved to travel and was the “Rand McNally” on trips. George was a man full of unique knowledge and will be missed by many, including his favorite dog, Max.
Surviving are his mother Maria (Thad) Garrard, Arcadia, FL, his soul mate of 33 years Cathy Zimont, Constantine, sister Judy Shoun, Zolfo Springs, FL, the Zimont family Chuck and Joey Zimont, Jeff and Peggy Zimont, Todd and Sharon Zimont, Ben and Kathy Zimont, nephews and nieces Ryan, Adam, Allison and Megan Zimont, Michael, Amanda and Courtney Giles and great nephew Nolan Zimont. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Shoun and several uncles.
Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 pm at Constantine United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Jeff Zimont officiating. Eley Funeral Home in Constantine is handling the arrangements. I am so at a loss for words. My heart also feels your loss. He was such a joyful man and friend. We will miss him terribly at the Friendly in Jones. My prayers are with you Kathy and your family
