A community park was suggested to be named in honor of a former member of the Three Rivers City Commission.
During last week’s city commission meeting, commissioner Diane Clay suggested a park on Broadway Street near Fourth Street be named in honor of Elbert Foster, who passed away last month following a 10-year battle against sickle cell anemia.
Foster was a longtime member of the commission and also served as pastor at Ambassadors For Christ.
Clay noted the park in question is in the city’s Second District, the area Foster represented.
