Man arrested after fleeing police

A 28-year-old White Pigeon man was charged with a number of offenses after fleeing in his vehicle from police and engaging in a high-speed chase.
State police said an attempt to stop the vehicle for speeding and a moving violation was made near the intersection of Blue School and Dickinson roads around 2:50 a.m. Saturday.
The driver refused to stop and drove several backroads through Constantine Township, at one point attempting to run the state police patrol car off the roadway, according to authorities.
The vehicle was eventually disabled near the intersection of Millers Mill and Maple roads, where the suspect was arrested following a foot chase. A 25-year-old female passenger from Three Rivers was treated at Three Rivers Health for minor injuries.
Police said the driver, whose name was not released pending arraignment, was charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, felonious assault and driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted on two outstanding warrants.
