Glen Oaks Athletic Director Courtney Ivan announced today the hiring of a new men’s and women’s cross country coach, Melissa Cramton. “I am delighted to have Melissa on staff. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for running is contagious! Student-athletes, staff, and fans will love her optimism and energy. She will do great things for us here at the Oaks” Ivan said. Cramton replaces Shawn Hulin who stepped down from his position in April to spend more time with his young family.

Cramton is new to the college coaching scene but has enjoyed running for a long time and recently opened her own running business Laces and Paces in Sturgis, MI, where she creates individualized running plans.  Besides operating her own business she has worked in the social services realm for over nine years.
Melissa is a certified running coach through Road Runners Club of America and also holds a LLBSW license.
Cramton resides in Sturgis with her husband; Dave, three children; McKenna, Morgan, Lane, and beloved dog, Breslin.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to bring my passion and experience for running to the student athletes at Glen Oaks. I look forward to seeing what our program can accomplish in these next years!”
The Vikings are looking to build off of the success of decorated runner Trevor Sprowls this coming year and are hosting the Call of the Viking Invitational for the second year in a row Friday, September 23rd on Glen Oaks campus. The invitational features middle school, high school, and collegiate runners from across the state.
