The city of Sturgis has identified areas targeted for its road and sidewalk improvements this summer.
The locations are: Cottage Street, from South Nottawa to South Lakeview; Walker Street, from South Fourth to South Lakeview; Forest Avenue, from South Centerville to Prairie; White Street, from West South to the south driveway access to the Meijer store; Congress Street, from South Maple to South Lakeview; an alley between U. S. 12 and East West Street; and Broadus Street railroad crossing.
In each case, work will include cold milling the existing road and resurfacing it, except for the railroad crossing, where 60 feet of Broadus Street will be reconstructed and paved.
Niblock Excavating of Bristol, Ind., will perform the balance of the work, which is expected to cost more than $750,000.
