Nancy Carol Franovich, age 69, of Colon, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater.
Nancy was born Nov. 3, 1946, in Chicago, daughter to the late William and Letha (West) McLaughlin.
She married Donald A. Franovich in November of 1966 in Dolton, Ill.
Nancy had made her home in Colon for the past 20 years formerly of Hammond, Ind.
She had worked at the Lansing Animal Hospital in Lansing, Ill., and later at the St. Joseph County courthouse as the victims rights advocate.
Nancy enjoyed her family, friends and retired life with her husband Donald and dog Ebby at their lake home in Colon. Nancy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She touched the lives of many and welcomed all into her home.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald; two sons, John M. (Tracey) Franovich and Daniel R. (Lorrie) Franovich, both of Crown Point, Ind.; two grandchildren, Morgan and Jake; brother, Jeffrey L. (Julie) McLaughlin; sister Debra McLaughlin; two nieces, Jeana (Ashley) and Jamie (Ryan); great nephew Benjamin and dog Ebby.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James “Billy” McLaughlin; and beloved dog “Gooch.”
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD., 308 S. Blackstone Avenue, Colon, MI 49040. Cremation will follow and a celebration of life service will take place July 29, 2016 back in Crown Point.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation .
