Sturgis police officers in the past week have benefitted twice from the department’s K-9 officer, Tuckey.
According to a department media release, Tuckey was brought to a traffic stop at 7 p.m. July 19 at St. Joseph and Clay streets. Officers were suspicious of two male suspects and Tuckey’s search alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A 33-year-old man was arrested.
At 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of North Nottawa and Washington streets, officer’s responded to a call of subjects using narcotics inside a vehicle.
Tuckey again alerted officers to narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
A 32-year-old female and 33-year-old male were taken into custody on multiple drug charges.
