Charles Walton, 94

Charles D. Walton, age 94, of Nottawa, died on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Three Rivers Health. He was born December 26, 1921 in Hitchcock, South Dakota a son of George and Loa (Hagerty) Walton. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1940 and married Barbara Walter November 14, 1952 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death May 3, 2013. Charles owned and operated his farms in Bronson and Nottawa since 1950. He also designed and produced custom farm machinery and ran a machine repair business. Charles served on the Nottawa School board for 20 years and was active in 4H where he shared his love of animals with many children.

Surviving are his sons Larry (Angie) Walton, Nottawa, Billy (Teresa Metz) Walton, Nottawa, Jon (Sheila) Walton, Sturgis, daughter Nancy Walton, Nottawa, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Dale Walton and sister Frances Wolff.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Saturday 12-1 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 1 pm with Pastor Clint Zehr officiating. Interment will be in the Nottawa Cemetery.
