St. Joseph County United Way Director Kelly Hostetler said the agency is starting to prepare for its annual silent auction at the 2016 St. Joseph County Grange Fair, and the public is being asked to consider making a donation to help the effort.
The fair begins Sept. 18 and the auction coincides with the seven-day event.
Hostetler said more space has been rented this year to accommodate the growth of the auction.
Some examples of popular auction items include bicycles, camping equipment, tools, antiques, themed gift baskets, gift certificates, electronics and artwork.
Hostetler said United Way representatives will pick up any donated item. Cash donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase items in the name of the donor.
Aug. 31 is the deadline for donations. More information is available through the St. Joseph County United Way office, at 467-9099.
