Charges filed in White Pigeon robbery

Charges have been filed against a 24-year-old Edwardsburg man in connection with last month’s robbery of the Dollar General in White Pigeon.
St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough has issued an armed robbery warrant for Steven Wheeler Johnson.
White Pigeon Police received information that Johnson was allegedly involved in the July 16 robbery and their investigation led to the issuance of the warrant.
Johnson is currently in the Cass County Jail on a contempt-of-court warrant. After the disposition of that case, he will be turned over to St. Joseph County authorities.
Police believe Johnson entered the Dollar General about 7 p.m., handed a note to clerk and demanded money.
