Bennie Charlene Barnes, age 86, of Three Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Greenfield, TN., on August 11, 1929 the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Gertie Mae( Gant) Bogle.

Bennie and her late husband, Daniel, made Three Rivers their residence many years ago, while raising three boys. Bennie was a Deputy Clerk for the City of Three Rivers and later a Police Dispatcher for the Three Rivers Police Department before retiring in 1998. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed spending winters with her husband in San Benito, TX., where she became the “campground” hostess. She also volunteered at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair for many years.

Bennie leaves to cherish her loving memory, three sons, Jim Barnes, of Three Rivers, Gary (Marie) Barnes and Russell (Denise) Barnes, both of Ladson, SC ; six grandchildren, Kim(David) Bondy, Dan (Dee Jay) Barnes, Kylee( Andrew) Ridge, Melanie (Gene) Blackwell, Sean Barnes, and Brian (Sara) Barnes; and nine cherished great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 14th, 2016 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15th, 2016 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Maddox of the Light and Life Wesleyan Church officiating.

Memorials may be donated to Bennie’s great-granddaughter Sarah, to help in her courageous battle with a rare genetic disorder. Donations may be made payable to Kylee Ridge. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
