Five tornadoes tallied after survey of weekend storm damage

Weekend storms that swept across parts of southwestern and western Michigan also spawned at least five tornadoes.
National Weather Service meteorologist Evan Webb in Grand Rapids says Tuesday that the tally was made after damage from Saturday was surveyed.
No injuries were reported, but some homes and hundreds of trees were damaged.
The strongest tornado had estimated peak winds of up to 110 mph and touched down in Van Buren County’s Bangor. It traveled about 10 miles.
Webb says the entire town of Bangor lost power.
Another struck near Fennville in Allegan County, while two others touched down in the Grand Rapids area.
The fifth tornado tracked about eight miles in Ionia and Montcalm counties.
Webb says storm sirens activated, giving many people advance warnings.   (AP)
