Two people were arrested early Sunday morning in Sturgis in connection with a
large fight. The incident happened after 3:00 a.m. where a 28-year-old female and 26-
year-old male were in a verbal altercation.
Sturgis police said the male pulled a knife on the female and slashed at her, but
the female was able to stop the knife with her hand, cutting it in the process.
The fight was able to be stopped by several other people, who were able to get the knife
away.
However, a 33-year-old male picked up a metal pipe and began hitting people
with it before police arrived.
Ultimately police were able to calm things down and arrested the two men — one
with assault with intent to murder, possession of a synthetic narcotic in addition to
resisting and obstructing police; and one with felonious assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said several people were treated on scene for injuries.
