Bob Roach, 75

Robert W. Roach, age 75, of Colon, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Three Rivers Health.
Bob was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Sturgis, a son of William J. and Mary B. (McLatcher) Roach.
He had lived all his life in the Sherwood and Colon area, graduating from Colon High School with the class of 1959.
In 1974, Bob married Carolyn S. Ash.
Bob had worked for and retired from the former Kirsch Company in Sturgis. He was a member of Colon United Methodist Church and Colon Masonic Lodge #73. He had a love for sports, enjoyed gardening and time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Roach, of Colon; children Ronda Dell of Angola, Ind., Amy Roach of Portage, Richard Roach of Portage and Shannon (Alain) Calixte of Fort Wayne, Ind.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary B. Roach of Sherwood; a sister, Nancy Wall of Sherwood; a brother, Jerry Roach of Sherwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Spearow; two infant daughters, Mary and Terri; two brothers, Larry and Ron Roach; and his father, William J. Roach.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon, with a Masonic service taking place at 7 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert W. Roach will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Colon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Sterner and Rev. David Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow, with private burial of ashes at a later date.
